| Horizons |
Horizons ble til som et samarbeidsprosjekt mellom Anne Lorentzen og den finske fotografen Marja Pirilä. Anne skrev 30 minutter musikk til en utstilling med Marjas bilder og installasjon knyttet til camera obscura som teknikk.
Utstillingen ble gjennomført i tidsrommet 4.-27.04.2003 og vist i galleriet Nykyaika i Tampere, Finland, og er siden vist i bl.a Petersburg.
Resultatet av dette samarbeidet ble den 15. november 2006 gitt ut på EP-en Horizons, ekskusivt for musikkonline.no
Musikken er laget med utgangspunkt i ørsmå biter av samplet lyd fra innspilt hammondorgelmusikk. Lydfragmentene er "blåst opp" eller forstørret og strukket ut i tid, og så sammenføyet gjennom "looping" og videre bearbeiding ved hjelp av livesampleren som verktøy. Forløpene er for en stor del improvisert frem og spilt inn "live" i Lorentzens hjemmestudio på Nesodden.

Anne Lorentzen started to cooperate with the finish photographer Marja Pirilä in 2003. Finally the first result of this cooperation can be heard on the EP Horizons which was launched exclusively on musikkonline.no on November 15th, 2006.
Horizons is 30 minutes with electronic music written for an installation by the finish photographer Marja Pirilä. Pirilä works with an ancient photo technique called Camera Obscura, in this case used to document the horizon seen from a particular place in Piriläs hometown Tampere, over a couple of weeks. One of the images from this series of "long shots", is used as the coverdesign of "Horizons".
Anne Lorentzen, here with the alias "Anne Lorentxen", has with this in mind created a series of "auditive horizons", supposed to interact with the images in the installation. The music`s repetitive character, however, also establishes a space for meditative contemplation.
"Horizons" is made by tiny bits of sampled sound from recorded hammond-organ music. The soundfragments have been magnified and stretched, and then tied together and developed into a linear form through looping and manipulation with a livesampler. The pieces are for the most part written as improvised pieces and recorded "live" in Lorentzens homestudio at Nesodden.
